Tales from the Old Road – Pennsylvania in the Fall of 1987
Saturday morning I was super excited to go the tailgate party before the Penn State game. There were thousands of motorhomes and cars in the parking lot. At the tailgate, we ate hoagies, drank beer, and socialized. It was a nice day too, with weather inf the mid 60’s. A great day for football, and Penn State beat Rutgers 35-21. All that AND and REM concert! -

Miramar Hotel - History from the Old Road
At Old Road Brand, we are most often inspired by places now relegated to memories of the “Old Road”. This post brings it “home” for me. The Miramar Hotel on the 101 Highway in Montecito (just south of Santa Barbara, CA) was a roadside fixture for decades. -
Going Home… on my Old Road

My stretch of this highway (through Montecito) is commonly known as East Valley Road and Sycamore Canyon Road. By the looks of it, you’d never knowingly associate this stretch of road as any kind of highway. -
Road Trip: Exploring Old Alameda Naval Air Station

The based closed for active military use in 1997, and for many years sat locked and dormant. The location is on the island of Alameda, which sits adjacent to the city of Oakland, with incredible views of San Francisco and the San Francisco Bay. -

This is the story of Old Road Brand
More than anything else, I wondered what could I do with these maps? I had spent many years in the gift, craft & hobby business. Certainly, there must have been some way to bring these maps to life. -
Mexico Road Trip - Late 1980's
It was a big white beast at the time, which I had christened "The Land Shark". The name was shorted to "The Shark", and many stories could be told about it… this is just one.
